Interesting Shark Deterring Development
Although I have not personally reviewed this product, its innovation and functionality make it worth checking out if your local break makes you feel like chum in a pair of baggies. It uses sound frequency and a hefty price tag to ward off the grey devil.
Also, the guys over at Shark Camo have an idea. Falling into that "Why didn't I think of that?" category, Shark Camo's products follow one basic concept. There are certain species of sea animals that are either distasteful of poisonous to sharks, and these creatures seem to have a similar skin color pattern. For example, both the lion fish and the sea snake are covered in black and white stripes which seem to repel sharks. Moreover, the newly discovered mimic octopus will even take on the form and color of these species when threatened by a shark. And here is where Shark Camo steps in.
