Do the sun's rays affect my surfboard?

By Jay DiMartino, About.com

Question: Do the sun's rays affect my surfboard?
Answer: Well, the answer is yes and no on this one. The sun doesn't necessarily affect riding performance as much as it affects the cosmetic value of your board. Just as the sun will brown your skin, the sun will also brown the heck out of you board, leaving your once pristine-white masterpiece looking used and somewhat skanky. Therefore, store your board in a shady spot out the sun's harmful reach.
