Jeffreys Bay, South Africa played host to some of the most spectacular showdowns of the season (if not ever) today when perfect 1.2 to 1.6 metre (4 to 6 foot) waves consistently pumped into the arena offering surfers maximum opportunity to perform.
With Jeffreys Bay showing definite signs of the predicted new swell, organisers of the Billabong Pro have once again placed the event on hold for today but are expecting tomorrow to be killer.
Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Rules and Discipline Judge, Robert Gerard announced today that Brazilian surfer, Neco Padaratz (currently ranked 27 on the World Championship Tour) has been suspended from professional surfing, effective immediately, until 1 January 2006.
Despite strong winds lashing the coast during the night, the Billabong Pro has awoken to a miniscule swell dribbling over the reef at Jeffreys Bay, South Africa which has prompted organisers to once again place the event on hold for today.

BIG WEST SWELL BOMBARDS ROUND TWO AT TEAHUPOO
TEAHUPOO (Cheo-pu) edged towards its dangerous best today as the Billabong Pro Tahiti continued its march hunting a result, with a new west swell kicking in for the sudden death round two heats of the Fosters Mens World Tour event. Solid 2m (4-6++) slabs of water, with some bomb sets from the west, saw conditions become critical on the end section as surfers tried to escape from the wrapping barrel.
