Due to a drop in swell overnight The Rip Curl Pro Pipeline Masters has been called off for the day.
While the conditions are clean the Pipeline wave is not delivering the epic barrels that have been seen so far in the Rip Curl Code STL Trials and round one of the main event and organisers are looking towards a predicted rise in swell over the next few days before continuing.
While the event, the 11th on the Fosters ASP Mens World Tour, has a waiting period of nearly two weeks, it can be completed in four days, and at this point there is only a maximum of two days remaining. This allows organisers the luxury of being able to send competitors out in optimum conditions.

Sending a thrill through the ASP camp on the North Shore of Oahu this week has been the announcement that Rip Curl be holding its 2006 Rip Curl Search WCT event somewhere in Mexico.
The event has what is known as a floating licence which allows it to be able to move around the globe and host events in new and exciting locations each year. The move to Mexico is first for the Fosters ASP Mens World Tour and ASP President Wayne Bartholomew was excited by the prospect.
With the floating licence its the only event on the Fosters ASP Mens World Tour with the ability to move around the globe to follow quality waves on offer, said Bartholomew. Even though its regarded as the Dream Tour and we go to the best surf spots on Earth, having an event that floats adds a bit of spice to the tour And deepest darkest Mexico sounds pretty spicy to me!
Rip Curl International Marketing Director Neil Ridgway was also looking forward to the adventure.
We want to find the best waves in the most exiting locations, said Ridgway. Places that embody the real spirit of the search where you can mix the high performance surfing of the top 45 with the thrill of travel and adventure. Weve looked at five different locations. We had a great time Reunion Island in 2005 and in 2006 year were going somewhere great in Mexico.
