Freestyle Lockdown: On the Down Low

Freestyle Lockdown: On the Down Low

Hmmmm...Let's run down all the reasons why I might need a tiny secret compartment in my timepiece. Tic Tacs? I do like fresh breath on the go. Aspirin? Well, sometimes after a hard surf session, I do ache a bit. How about a love note from my wife or a picture of my kids or my super secret cash machine pin number? Is this what the think tank over at Freestyle was getting at or is there something more sinister going down here?
Who cares? The Lockdown from Freestyle is a very stylish and solidly constructed watch that is holding a hidden compartment with a screw down lock. The compartment is small and might just hold a folded $20 bill, a piece of gum, or maybe (just maybe) something you would rather keep to yourself.

The Lockdown is also a traditional timepiece with all the basics:

-3 Hand Movement with Date

-Luminous Hands and Markers

-Solid Stainless Steel Case

-Durable Polyurethane Strap

-100 Meters H20

But the real draw here is the secret spot with the screw lock. The only problem is that the compartment is not officially waterproof and also makes the watch itself appear a smidge large and feel a little unwieldy.

Ironically (meaning that I did not expect this specific outcome), most of the compliments I have received have been on the "cool" appearance and "awesome" size of the watch, so its utter girth does not detract from its beauty. In fact, everyone is digging on the Lockdown.

Also, I took this clandestine little number for a surf session with a fat multi-vitamin stashed in its chamber of secrets to test its outdoor capabilities and although Freestyle is not claiming it as waterproof, the multivitamin made it through dry as a bone.

So, at 150 bucks, this is what I found you get:

cool style (although it feels a bit large)

a semi-waterproof chamber to keep your "chronic-logical" paraphernalia.

all the time-keeping action that the big and little hands can give you.

Happy stashing.
