Billabong Pro Off Again

By , About.com Guide

Billabong Pro Maui contest director Mike Parsons’ job is to make sure the women of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Women’s World Tour are given the best possible platform on which to display their skills. An early morning surf check piqued Parsons’ interest enough to call a 10am reevaluation of conditions for a possible 11am start. Unfortunately, an outgoing tide saw the waves drop in size and consistency and the event was called off for the day.

Today marks day seven of a thirteen day waiting period in which the final event of the year will run. Forecasted swell still sits on the horizon, so with half of the contest window at our disposal, all are optimistic that the 2005 ASP title race will run in classic Honolua Bay fashion.
