Does it matter what kind of wax I use on my board?

By Jay DiMartino, About.com

Question: Does it matter what kind of wax I use on my board?
Answer: Most definitely. In fact, I have used the wrong wax and suffered such horrifying problems as chest rash and chronic slippage. As it is always safe to go with the major brands of wax commonly found in surf shops such as Sex Wax, Mrs. Palmers, or Sticky Bumps, you must pay special attention to the temperature specifications. Each wax company makes differnt types of wax for different climates, so the same wax that works in Northern California would be useless down in Puerto Rico. Check the temperature specifications first, then try different brands until you're happy.
