Definition: Acetone is a colorless and extremely flammable liquid solvent. Acetone is used in the surfing industry primarily as a cleaning agent. Shapers use acetone to clean polyester resin from their shaping equipment and to clean debris and wax off surfboard surfaces. Acetone is very toxic to the skin and dangerous (probably deadly) if swallowed.
