Hack

By Jay DiMartino, About.com

Definition: This is another new addition to the surfing lexicon. It comes on the heels of words like "punt", "gaff", and "slab". "Hack" is actually synonymous with "gaff" in that it is a noun defined as a massive surfing maneuver that results in a large displacement of water. A blazing cutback or slicing top-turn could both be termed hacks.
Pronunciation: hak
Also Known As: gaff, slash, shralp
Examples: Holy Moly! Joey's last hack threw buckets out the back before he pulled in to that shack(tube).
