Reaching surfed out status generally takes a lot of time and effort and a whole lot of good waves. Logic would state that it's easier to get surfed out in Hawaii than it is in Florida, but conversely, it probably takes many more days of waves to tire out the folks in Hawaii, while two days of hurricane surf might leave east coasters sunburned and spaghetti armed.
In fact, spaghetti arms, chest rash, and sun burned skin and eyes are all indications of becoming surfed out. But true surfed out status arrives the moment one decides he/she can't paddle out for just one more wave even when the swell is still pumping. If this happens, you, my friend, have reached your goal: total surfing satisfaction.
