Definition: A doggy door is a noun that refers to a small exit from a barrel a surfer finds under a falling lip. Once inside a tube that is closing out, a surfer has to find an exit. Sometimes, just as the lip is falling closed, there is a small space through which a surfer can sometimes sneak under and still make the wave. That exit is called the doggy door.
Examples: That guy was super deep in the barrel and just scooted out through the doggy door at the last second.
