I know I didn't hit them all, so think back to your early days or maybe some modern movies that may have hit the surfing nail on the head. Share your Favorites

Modern Surf Movies?

I get the point that there were many great movies concerned with early surf culture (Ride the Wild Surf was cool too), but I specified "modern" surf movies since my readers are generally younger beginner surfers. This is really a toungue-in-cheek piece. North Shore is not a great movie but it's just a lot of fun.

Yes!

Surf's Up is insane. Thinking back when I wrote this, I was considering that flick. I don't know why I neglected it. The shaping discussions in that movie are priceless when coming out of a bird's mouth with Jeff Bridges' voice. Great stuff.

idiocy. NOTHING from the 50s, 60s, 70s?

Gidget? Beach Blanket Bingo? 50 character minimum, but I don't want to do any more research you should have done for you.

Surf's Up

Surf's Up did it right. Kids movie who cares? Great waves and great surfing. Better than all these movies.
